My M.A. thesis project, "Knotted," is a narrative short film that I have cherished deeply. My final project at SCAD is the result of months of careful organization, planning, and creativity. It's a story I wrote back in 2023, intending to direct it and turn it into a feature-length film, and it represents my most personal work to date.

Throughout the stages of pre-production, we focused on giving ourselves the most time to flesh out the script, securing a proper location, the casting and audition process, and ensuring proper amount of time regarding preparation for a film of this scale. We raised and exceeded our Goal of $7,000 to produce this film.

PRODUCTON/PRINCIPAL PHOTOGRAPHY
Principal Photography:
Knotted was filmed over three days. We spent four days on location, one pre-light and rehearsal day, and from there we hit the ground running. On set, we set up 12-hour days and shot on location to meet our goal of a 12-page script. I am very grateful for my entire Cast and Crew. My role in this was directing the cast, making sure our crew executed our storyboards and light plans properly, and making sure the heart of the story was communicated on screen.
Knotted was shot on the Arri Alexa Mini LF with the assistance of Cooke S4i Lenses, with additional shots from the RED Komodo paired with Zeiss lenses. We wanted this film to look as soft and cinematic as other modern-day coming-of-age stories are done. I collaborated closely with my cinematographer and close friend, Pranav Abraham, to craft a look that would give this film a signature feeling.
